NEW YORK -- The Early Show's Week of Wishes series tells the story of a young family, for which the aftermath of Sept. 11 is especially painful because they lost someone with so much left to do. At age 1, Michael
Licciardi is too young to know how much his life has changed. As he stares out
at his front yard, waiting patiently for a father who will never return. Ralph Licciardi, 30, was the father of two boys: Ralph Jr., nearly 3, and 1-year-old Michael. Through the eye of the family video camera, it's not hard to see the man Ralph Licciardi was: the kind of person who laughed easily, played heartily, loved sincerely and was sincerely loved in return. "I met him at 16 through a friend...and ever since then we've been together," says his wife Jennifer. Like so many new widows, she still speaks of her husband in the present tense. For her, the relationship lives on, even after that terrible day. She visits us on Wednesday, to tell us about the man she loves along with Ralph's brother Anthony and Ralph's father Sebastiano. |
